Porto & Douro Valley · private wine journeys

Porto opens the door to two wine landscapes: the historic lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia and the terraced Douro Valley. The region was demarcated in 1756, and the Alto Douro wine landscape became a World Heritage Site in 2001. An urban visit explores Port ageing; the estates around Pinhão deserve a separate full day or an overnight stay in the valley.
